The Founder:

Dr. Kwang-Ya Wang is a native of Gongyi, Henan Province. He graduated from the Department of Economics of Asia University, Japan. In 1949, he started a tutorial institute called Yu-Da Business School, which over the years evolved into a renowned Commercial Vocational Senior High School in Taiwan. Presently there are two campuses, one in Taipei and the other in Tao Yuan. The total number of students enrolled in the school exceeds 21,000 yearly, therefore in terms of student population; it is the largest school in the world. With more than 170,000 students already graduated from the school, Yu-Da graduates are working in virtually every corner of the island of Taiwan. Dr. Wang has been the president of the Private Educational Association, in the R.O.C, for twenty-eight years. He now is the principal and the chairman of the board of directors of Yu-Da commercial Vocational Senior High School. His contribution to education in Taiwan has won him worldwide fame and consequently conferred him a doctorate degree in education by the United University of California. In recent years, due to the reforms of Mainland China's educational policies, it has become possible for Dr. Wang to fulfill his life long wish of extending his contribution in education to his birthplace, Henan, China. Thus, he has decided to build the first private university in China for providing well-trained management personnel to keep up with the rapid growth of China's economy. |
